Inca Trail 2 days
Trip Description
Live an unforgettable adventure with Suyarq Peru and connect with history, nature, and the greatness of the Andes.
Discover a unique experience by joining our 2-day Inca Trail tour to Machu Picchu. This excursion combines adventure, history, and breathtaking landscapes in a short but intense version of the classic route.
Our journey begins in Ollantaytambo, in the heart of the Sacred Valley, where the logistics for this unforgettable journey start. From there, we will board the train that will take us to km 104, the starting point of the hike.
Accompanied by professional guides with extensive experience, we will walk along ancient Inca trails surrounded by spectacular Andean landscapes. The hike covers approximately 12 kilometers (7.5 miles), crossing cloud forests full of biodiversity.
During the tour, we will visit important archaeological sites such as Chachabamba and Wiñay Wayna, where you will learn about the history and significance of these ancestral constructions.
After the visit, we continue until reaching Intipunku (the Sun Gate), from where you get the first panoramic view of Machu Picchu. Then we descend to Aguas Calientes to spend the night in a hotel.
The second day is dedicated to a guided tour of Machu Picchu, exploring temples, plazas, royal enclosures, and agricultural terraces with a specialized guide.
Overall, it is a moderate difficulty trek, but demanding due to the ascents and altitude. It is recommended to book in advance because permits are limited and tend to sell out months ahead.
If you are evaluating an agency like Suyarq Peru, the general idea of this type of operator is precisely to facilitate the Inca Trail experience and other tours in Cusco with pre-organized logistics.
